What's holding you back?

Performance

Sporting example – Golf- bringing your body up to par!

  • The stiffness and the relatively painless, but progressive, restriction
of movement that characterise ageing are often due largely to latent trigger points.  These latent trigger points do not spontaneously refer pain.  They cause muscle shortening and can restrict movement to within the painless range.  These latent trigger points respond as well
to my specific and unique myofascial therapy and a regular stretching and movement program as do active trigger points.  Completely deactivating a trigger point will increase your flexibility.
  • Assisted stretches by a trained professional can get you on the road to recovery much faster.  A muscle which contains latent trigger points is intolerant of being left relaxed in the shortened position for a period of time and quickly develops a cramp-like pain on voluntary contraction
    in the shortened position.
  • Speed and Kinetic Sequencing
  • If the muscle cannot move through its full range during contraction, then the effort is inefficient.  This is independent of strength of the muscles.
  • During the swing, you place certain muscles on full stretch and as you release let them fire creating all these levers of kinetic energy.  If you work on maximising your kinetic sequence then this will give you maximal speed in your swing which will send your ball further!
  • If your body does not allow this stretch because your muscles are not
at peak health, then all the strain of the swing goes into your joints.
  • Attempting to put your body in the positon your golfing pro has said, could be causing degeneration of your joints because your muscles contain trigger points which cause dysfunction in the length of the muscle
  • Endurance
  • Strength
  • Kinetic Timing
  • Poor periodisation and planning so you peak at the wrong time
